Guy de la Porte

Guy de la Porte is a commercial and industrial property broker at Airport Property (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town, South Africa. He is widely known as “The Airport Property Guy“.

Guy started his career in commercial and industrial property in 1987 at the age of 23 and has spent almost four decades in the Cape Town market. He is one of the city’s longest-serving and most experienced industrial property brokers, and has won numerous property awards.

Background: Guy joined Broll Property Group in 1989 and was a director there until May 1998, where he headed up the industrial property division. On leaving Broll he founded De La Porte Property Group.

Qualifications: Guy obtained the Diploma in Advanced Property Practice from the Institute of Estate Agents (IEA) in 1989. In 2023 he was awarded the designation of Master Practitioner in Real Estate (MPRE) by the Estate Agency Affairs Board, now the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA). He also attended the University of Cape Town Department of Construction Economics Property Development Programme in 1995 and the UCT Graduate School of Business Property Development Programme in 1997.

Specialisation: Guy focuses on industrial property in Airport Industria and surrounding areas of Cape Town, including warehouses, distribution centres and factory space. He works mainly with large warehousing and logistics companies and with manufacturers looking to lease, buy or sell industrial premises.

How he works: Guy has an established network of industry and property players and a track record of high-level industrial property transactions. He works on a personal basis and prefers to meet clients face to face. He establishes each client’s needs personally, gives professional advice based on in-depth market knowledge, and connects them to the right property, saving them time and helping them get the most from their industrial property opportunities.
