Guy de la Porte previously sold a property with the rights for industrial usage in Main Road, Muizenberg, last year. The property had a space to the rear of the property that had been occupied as a motor workshop for decades. The motor workshop operator was paying historically low rentals and when he decided to immigrate, the owners of the property allowed him to cancel the lease, knowing that they would achieve a far higher use of the property, with an increased rental.
Founder of Wines of the Cape, Duane Els, saw the opportunity of leasing the old workshop space at a low rental. By converting the space to trendy warehouse and offices premises, an ideal home will be provided for his various business interests.
