Cape Town’s Parow Industrial Areas Consist of:
Beaconvale is well-established, centrally located industrial area catering for small to medium size businesses. Larger companies include Distell, Svenmill Fabrics and Cape Galvanising. Beaconvale is located just off Voortrekker Road on the corner of Francie van Zijl and Jan van Riebeeck Drive in Parow and easily accessible from both the N1 and N2 highways. It is close to N1 City.
Parow Industria is a centrally located older industrial area which is popular both with manufacturers and distributors. Parmalat, Peninsula Beverages (Coke a Cola) and Imperial Distribution. Older buildings have been demolished to make way for modern facilities. Parow Industria is often seen as an alternative to Airport Industria Epping, or Beaconvale.
Parow East is a small industrial area which is popular both with the Motor Trade and Service businesses. It is situated close to Parow Centre. The largest industrial user is Caxton’s.
Tygerberg Business Park is an extension to Parow Industria. With modern buildings and good security (one of Cape Towns first Industrial City Improvement Districts), it is a sought after area and is home to Alpine Manufacturing, Antalis Penninsula Beverages, Sondor, Foschini, Shumani Printers, RTT , Book Warehouse, UTI, Pro Roof and other large users.
Elsies River used to be predominantly occupied by clothing and textile industry (Jordan Shoes is still in operation and a landmark in the area) and other large manufacturers. Two large manufacturing concerns, Leyland and Consani Engineering, have both been recycled into large industrial Parks, which are now sought after locations for industrialists due to their large and secure units.
