Epping Industrial Park

Distell LTD, Africa’s leading producer and marketer of wines, spirits, ciders and other ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages, has leased a large warehouse unit measuring 5666m² in popular Ikhwezi Industrial Park, Epping.  Other major tenants in this prime industrial park are CFS (Checkers Food Services). Capital Property Fund Ltd owns Ikhwezi Industrial Park, it being previously owned by Old Mutual Properties.  Ikhwezi is one of a  few large Industrial Parks in Epping that are popular amongst national tenants.

Guy de la Porte negotiated a three-year lease between Capital Property Fund and Distell. The total value of the lease is  R13 Million. Distell is utilising this warehouse for their Merchandising store. Distell’s massive Green Park bottling operation, which they own, is situated just around the corner in Epping, making this a convenient location for their merchandising activities. Guy de la Porte has included many landmark warehouse sales and leases in Epping over his 30 plus years as a specialist industrial property broker in Cape Town.

Epping is considered Cape Town’s most central industrial area,  due to its location in between the N1 and N2 and the N7 and M5 national roads. Only 15 minute’s drive from the Cape Town CBD, Epping is well located and a very convenient area to rent or buy a warehouse in Cape Town. It is very close to labour and has public transport on its doorstep. Epping is continuously undergoing renewal and warehouse and factory buildings are being recycled into more modern buildings. Epping has seen a substantial improvement and rises in property rentals in recent years and this is trend that is set to continue. A major factor in the revitalisation of Epping is the establishment of the Epping CID, which is continuously cleaning it up and reducing crime. Epping actually consists of  a number of suburbs and includes Viking Park and Western Province Park. You can read more about the Epping Industrial areas here.
