DSV has leased a 52,000m² purpose built Distribution Centre at Solar City, a prime industrial site situated at 53 Falcon Way, between the Cape Town International Airport runway and the N2 National Road, neighbouring Airport City. The property is highly visible from the N2.
DSV provides and manages supply chain solutions for thousands of companies every day. Since their establishment in 1976, they have been through a series of mergers to maintain a key position in the global transport industry. As a result, they have grown stronger and larger and are now the world’s fifth largest transport and logistics company.
The Solar City property was introduced by Guy de la Porte from Airport Property, who started work on the project in 2012 with UTI, who were later acquired by DSV. UTI were spread out in various properties in Airport Industria and needed the efficiency of a single property solution for their Cape Town property operations.
The superbly located, purpose-built facility at Solar City was developed by a private property consortium with Berg Partnerships doing the design, construction and project management. DSV’s new facility provides 52,000m2 of warehouse and office space. The site allows for further expansion of the warehouse when needed
An important aspect of the development is that every aspect of DSV’s new facility is designed to support its highly efficient operations. The warehouse provides cross docking facilities with multiple doors for efficient loading and off loading.
DSV commenced trading from its new premises early in 2022.
